Run the siren
Mid-wail: TRIGGER and HOLD down, echo and spring running, the scope riding the wave.
A closer look

The DC 1 engine
A physical model of the NJD SE-1, the classic UK analogue soundsystem siren heard on rigs for decades, voiced preset by preset against recordings of the reference unit. FREQUENCY, DEPTH and SPEED set the wail; CHARGE and FALL shape its contour; TONE, DRIVE and DECAY give it voice. The SWEEP box routes square, triangle or both, the live scope rides whatever the siren is doing, and a bank of 27 measured presets covers wails, foghorns, two-tones, bells and trills, with an INIT patch when you want to build your own.

The performance row
One row of pads is the whole performance. TRIGGER fires the siren and HOLD keeps it running. FAST and SLOW ride the wail by hand; RISE and DIVE bend the whole siren up or down an octave and glide it back. SPIN whirls the echo, INF freezes it into an endless wash, CRASH strikes the spring tank, and MUTE kills the dry siren while the sends keep washing. S1 to S4 are your own siren slots: save a sound you like and snap between four of them mid-session. Every pad sits on a key and a MIDI note, from C1 up, pad-controller friendly, and MIDI LEARN maps any knob to any controller.

Echo and spring
The siren feeds its own tape echo and its own spring. The delay is a tape-style echo with time, feedback, tone and input filtering, free-running or tap-tempo. The reverb is the ST 1 spring from Dub Control, modelled on the valve units of the King Tubby lineage: DECAY, TONE, MIX and WIDTH shape the wash, BOING morphs the tank from tight to loose, DWELL drives it, and CRASH hits it the way dub engineers hit the real thing. Both panels fold down to a single strip when you just want to play.

The performance strip
Fold everything down and the whole instrument becomes one narrow strip: pads, echo and spring at a glance. Park it above your DAW or at the edge of the screen and run the siren all night without it taking the room. The interface scales from 75% to 150% and fits itself to the screen it opens on.
Moves that run the dance
TRIGGER + HOLD
Fire the siren on the one, or lock it with HOLD and keep both hands free for the sweeps and the echo. Space bar, pad or MIDI note, whatever is closest.
FAST / SLOW
Ride the wail by hand: FAST whips the oscillation up while you hold it, SLOW drags it down. Release and the siren glides back to where it was.
RISE / DIVE
Bend the whole siren up or down an octave and let it glide home. The classic pitch-bend move, on a pad instead of a wheel.
INF
Spin the echo feedback to infinity and the last wail keeps circling on tape while you set up the next one. Release and it washes out.
CRASH
Strike the spring tank. The ST 1 answers with the splash every dub engineer knows, and the siren keeps wailing over the top of it.
MUTE
Kill the dry siren and leave only the echo and spring hanging in the air. Bring it back on the one, exactly like dropping the bass back in.
